ABOUT THE EGO
The ego exists to ensure self-preservation and does so by attempting to achieve 6 Basic Ego Values: Comfort, Acceptance, Purpose, Esteem, Security, & Control. When your ego perceives one of the 6 Basic Ego Values is being threatened, it may pursue that threatened value through either a masculine, logic-dominant approach or a feminine, emotion-dominant approach. Each approach allows for the creation of a character that represents only a part of who you are and does not account for your divine wholeness. The beliefs the ego picks up in its relentless quest to achieve each value have the potential to create a character through which you may be subconsciously living. It is through the identification with a character that you restrict your experience, potentially causing suffering.
